Yesterday was the release day for THE TEARS OF THE ROSE, book 2 in THE TWELVE KINGDOMS. Whew! It was a whirlwind of a day, with so many posts and congratulations. I shared the release day with so many book birthday twins, I nearly lost track.
But it was so very fun to have my book mentioned in the same breath with so many amazing spec-fic writing women who also had books out yesterday - like Lauren Dane, Nalini Singh, Jennifer Estep, Laura Kaye and Ilona Andrews.
As a number of readers commented - what a release day, huh? And fortunately we all - or at least those of us in the U.S. and not working in retail - get the next several days off to stuff our faces and then lie about, reading.
To make the day extra special, I received a box of audiobooks of THE MARK OF THE TALA, book 1 in the series. Isn't it cool how they gave it a new cover. In some ways I like that cover even better than the original. Spookier, which is probably accurate.
With THE MARK OF THE TALA up for book of the year and THE TEARS OF THE ROSE up for best fantasy romance in the RT Reviewers Choice awards, both books are holding very steady on Amazon in historical fantasy - both in the top 50.
(Isn't it funny, all the different genres these get put into - it should be a drinking game!)
As a way of saying thanks - to the wonderful crew at Here Be Magic, to all of you amazing, enthusiastic readers, to the bloggers who work so hard to talk up our books - I'm giving away the book of choice to a commenter. Either book 1 or book 2, paper or digital, even the audiobook of book 1. I'll even spring for international shipping! (Though I reserve the right to send by slow boat.)
