It's not been an easy month by any means. That Man had emergency gallbladder surgery on Nov 18th and complications sent him to the ICU. After another scope procedure to fix a liver bile leak and empty out an infection, he finally came home Nov 29th. Just in time for me to have a hysterectomy Nov. 30th. He's still dealing with a drain and a continued leak that may require another scope procedure next week. Needless to say, I've not been getting much care from that department. In fact, I wouldn't have even had a ride to the hospital without my dad coming down and basically dragging me to the hospital so I didn't put my surgery off until next year. Luckily I'm feeling really good. The hard part is not overdoing it.
We've never had so many medical issues in the same year. Add in the election, Samhain's closing/we're not closing turmoil...
I haven't written diddly squat this year.
Here I have this whole month off to recover, and I have no idea what I'm doing writing-wise. I've got some ideas in progress - but nothing in drafting mode at this time. I'm trying to build some new things, brainstorming, etc. but I'm a long ways from actually generating new words.
Now that I'm moving around pretty good and starting to get bored, I'm going to try and get a plan together. I bought a new planner for next year targeted to writers that I'll go through and try to get a handle on the upcoming year. New stories. New series. A new beginning in the new year. That's what I'm hoping, anyways.
So this December is my reset period. I haven't been online a lot lately. I've been playing some games, napping a little, and breezed through The Crown on Netflix. I keep telling myself that this isn't wasted time - but healing time. Down time. When it's time, the ideas and words will come.
I hope!
In the meantime, I'm hoping to get into the Christmas mood, and so to spread some holiday cheer, I'd like to offer a signed trade-sized print copy of The Billionaire's Christmas Bargain to one commenter on this blog post. Global entries welcome!
Ugh. What a horror run! Wishing your whole family a swift recovery and a happy 2017.

You're the winner! I sent you an email. Thank you!
Deletefeel better soon! What is the planner you're using?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephanie! I'm in between planners right now. I have an Agendio that I'm using more as a calendar that I bought back in May or so last year. I also ordered Powersheets from Lara Casey for next year. I've also been flirting with bullet journals, but I'm not artistic enough to do complicated layouts.
