Bring It Back(list) ~ Finders Keepers by PG Forte

Posted by: PG Forte

Happy 2020 everyone! I'm old enough that, nowadays, just looking at the date makes me feel like I'm living in the future. I mean, c'mon. We aren't really TWO DECADES into the "new" millennium are we?

Well, yes, I guess we are. At this rate, Finders Keepers, my near-future, MMF, SFR, holiday romance will end up becoming historical romance before I know it.

Here's a brief excerpt:

The dull thud of explosions filtered into Aldo’s brain, rousing him from sleep. “Fireworks,” he mumbled, watching the colored embers stream through the starry sky outside his window. They meant something, he supposed. He couldn’t remember what.

“Yeah. They just started,” a soft voice murmured beside him. “Happy New Year.”
New Year’s. Right. Aldo turned his head to find the source of the voice. Kyle was sitting up in bed, reclining against the pillows. Aldo allowed himself a moment to drink in the sight. It was a miracle that Kyle was alive, a miracle that he was sitting here at Aldo’s side. Beyond those simple facts, however, lay a twisted jumble of thoughts and emotions. How the fuck were they ever going to make this work?
The wistful look on Kyle’s face did not inspire Aldo with a lot of confidence in that regard. The rest of the package, all that delectable man flesh, certainly inspired a lot of other things, but confidence, no. “So,” he said, not bothering to sit up himself, not bothering to pull Kyle down into another long kiss the way he wanted to either. A kiss would be nice, but it could lead to either more sex—also nice—or to another argument. That would be significantly less nice and would leave Aldo feeling stupid for having started it. “Where do we go from here?”
“I don’t know.” Kyle looked tired. Even his amazing eyes looked worn—especially in the too-young face—and a lot less amazing now that Aldo knew the true cost of them. He felt an urgent need to reach out to Kyle, to touch him, not just to reassure himself that he was really here, but to somehow erase all the damage that had been done to him in the name of science. Yeah, Kyle had changed, all right, but they were all surface changes. They didn’t touch the heart of the man…and Aldo could not decide if that was bad or good. He felt the usual brew of guilt and grief and anger churning inside. He’d failed Kyle. They’d failed each other. And they were probably going to do so again.

FINDERS KEEPERS
SFR, Futuristic, Erotic, Menage

$3.99

Sometimes finding what you want is the easy part.

Caleb is a bionic soldier with little-to-no memory of his past. Aldo's an undercover cop who's searching for the man who got away. Then there's Sally, an ER physician who used to be married to Aldo's late partner, Davis. Sally's just looking for a reason to keep on getting up every day.

This holiday season, chance will bring them together and give them an opportunity to help one another find what they each want most. But every gift comes with a price. And keeping what they've found once they've found it? Yeah, that's gonna be the hard part.

Bring It Back(list) ~ Oak, by PG Forte

Posted by: PG Forte

Happy Winter Solstice everyone! I posted a few days ago about yoga and how similar a yoga practice is to the act of writing, but I was in class again today—on the Solstice—and we did several variations of Tree Pose, which took my mind right to OAK. For those of you who don’t know this book (which was previously released under the title The Oak King) it’s a reframing of the Oak King, Holly King story as a Solstice-centric, MMF, holiday ménage romance, set in 19th century Ireland.

Because who doesn’t love a little genre blending? And it just wouldn’t be the holidays without a Holiday Menage (I’m looking at you, Finders Keepers).

Anyway, back to yoga. Several of us were having more problems this morning than usual with our balance (in life as well as on our mats, I think!) and so my teacher spent a lot of time discussing the importance of finding the balance between alertness and relaxation. While we were in Reclining Tree Pose she also talked about how the mind has a tendency to drift away from the body…

Which was when my mind left the room entirely, and went directly to this scene at the end of Oak. It’s the morning of the Winter Solstice, and Fionn has just begun his six-month reign as The Oak King:

The world was not what it once was. Of that Fionn O’Dair was certain. It was a bright and beautiful place this pristine morning. A world reborn. Though it still slumbered in its snowy bed, he could feel the life within it. Curled up and folded in upon itself, it was like a seed in the dark, awaiting the light of the sun’s rays to quicken it and bring it forth. As his mind expanded outward, Fionn was aware of the joy that lay at the center of all creation. He could feel it aching to break free and explode into the world in swollen creeks after a spring thaw, in sweet-scented blossoms unfurling on a leafy branch, in newborn lambs dancing in the meadow.

He felt like dancing himself, if only that were possible. It was not, however. It would be several long months before he could dance again. This morning, even that was all right. He was content to stand here, tall and proud, ruling over the woodlands, protecting all that he held dear…

the Oak King’s thoughts drifted and spread, traveling throughout the forests and the woodlands, all across the Greenworld; life calling to life. Far and wide his thoughts went, to the ends of the earth and back again, whispering the world awake on this perfect winter morning.

* * * * *

Twice each year, Aine Murphy ventures into the woods to hold ceremonies to honor the Oak King and the Holly King, never dreaming these Lords of the Forest could be anything more than myth. When the legends spring to life in front of her, how can she help but fall for the sexy demi-gods she's loved all her life?

From midwinter to midsummer, Fionn O'Dair rules the Greenworld as the Oak King--a role he feels is beyond his abilities, and one that dooms him to a loveless future, forever craving the one man he can never allow himself to have. How can he resist what Aine offers--the sweet devotion that soothes his aching soul, and the slim chance to live a "normal" life as her husband, if only for half a year?

Holly King Kieran Mac Cuilenn never desired a human lover--until now. Seeing Fionn and Aine together fills him with longing for the love he threw away and awakens feelings he thought he'd buried with the last Oak King. Is there enough magic in the solstice to correct the mistakes he made years ago? Or is he doomed to be forever left out in the cold?

Aliens, menages and winged woman...

Posted by: Shona Husk
It feels like ages since I had a SFR release (checks notes...it has been ages). This release is also an MMF romance (and it's been a long time since I released one of them).

The Precinct One series is set in a fun world where the women have wings and the men don't. I got to re-imagine society--how would it be different and how would it be similar?

Menages became the norm for relationships and cities are stratified with men on the lower levels and women on the upper and everyone meeting in the middle for...er...a good time ;)

There are no humans as it takes place entirely on an alien planet, so if you want to escape Earth for a bit you might like the politics of Velli for a change. You can pre-order HERE and get it 3 days early (22 Feb instead of 25 Feb)

Halle Ish, one of Velli’s elite police Arrows, is shot down during a Precinct One riot. Wounded and unable to fly, she tries to hide and avoid capture, knowing that if she is found by the razor gangs or Clipper Sect they will sever her wings. She needs to get out of Precinct One.

Avin Lent was once a promising medical student, but he started sniffing Mumble to beat the stress and is now the doctor to one of the biggest gangs in Precinct One—while not part of the Clipper Sect, they are just as dangerous. He knows he is only as useful as his next surgery and they would have no qualms about killing him. Only Jarro is keeping him safe.

Jarro Coblic is deep under cover and has been for a year. Immersed in the gang, he suspects his hands will never be clean again. When he finds the wounded Arrow, he knows he can’t turn her over even though everyone is looking for her. With his lover’s help, they hide her and heal her wing. All the while, falling for her. He prays Avin will not crumble and reveal their secret as Jarro tries to figure out a way to get them all out of Precinct One before the Sect and the gangs bring the full wrath of Velli on Precinct One. Tearing the place down can’t come soon enough, but there will be blood before the slate can be washed clean.
