PG Forte: Well, The Let's Get Naughty 2 anthology released yesterday, and I'm feeling a little blue since I was supposed to have a story in it. I didn't get around to finishing it--yet--but when I do (maybe for next year's collection?) it's gonna kick ass. Here's a really brief excerpt and the cover. I love this cover. The characters are Zach and April from Love From A to Z.
Mistakes were made. Mostly by me. Spending Christmas weekend in a cozy, romantic B&B up the coast in Big Sur sounded like the perfect solution—especially since said B&B was vouched for by a good friend. Big Tony’s never steered me wrong yet.
It still sounds like a great idea, to be honest, and that might yet turn out to be the case. But, in hindsight, we might have not chosen to make the drive on December twenty-third. It’s the busiest day for traffic of the entire year. Look it up, it’s a fact. And LA area traffic is no joke on the best of days.
We also might not have chosen to take the scenic coast road over the Five. The San Joaquin Valley might be boring, but the Ventura Freeway isn’t called the World’s Longest Parking Lot for nothing.
All of which explains how we’ve managed to turn what should have been a six-hour trip into something closer to twelve—and that’s not counting the stop in Arroyo Grande to charge the Tesla.
So, even though we hit the road shortly after noon, it’s not until the early morning hours of Christmas Eve that we finally roll up to The Enchanted Forest Inn.
