Mostly, I write fiction. You'll find my novels listed on Amazon under my author profile. Occasionally, I write a blog post, either here or at my website. And rarely, I write a poem. I love poetry. It is the stripped-to-the-essence power of words. This poem is my celebration of poetry and our encounter with it.

So, It's A Poem

What is poetry?

Thought given words.
It is truth forced naked into the world;
conversation
stripped of hiding places.

Poetry is you, undreamed of,
reading, hammering meaning out of the few words
I didn't discard.

What is poetry
but the impulse of a moment;
cocooned to lose itself
and still be true.
