Audiobooks: Do You Love 'Em or Hate 'Em?

I'll be the first to admit that two of my biggest loves have suffered over the past year or so as I've dealt with life. Reading and writing. I can't seem to find time for either one!

In the past when I've had this problem, I solved it by plugging in my iPod (am I showing my age?) and listening to a good audiobook or two. I know. It's not the same as actually reading a book, but it's better than nothing. And I came to enjoy audiobooks on their own merit. OK, so I love audiobooks now. I've found some great ones over the years, including some written by my fellow Here Be Magic authors Veronica Scott, RL Naquin, Cindy Spencer Pape, Jody Wallace, and others. But the last year has walloped me good, and I can't even find time for audiobooks anymore.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to put my Audible account to good use again and force myself to listen to something while I commute — to work, home, to visit my father in assisted living, to work, home, and so on. So far, it has taken me two weeks to finish one book — the romance "Sleepless in Manhattan" by Sarah Morgan — but I'm on a roll and looking for recommendations now.

I know many readers fall on one of two sides when it comes to audiobooks. You either love 'em or hate 'em. Which one are you? And either way, tell me what to listen to next. I want your suggestions. Have you read read a good book lately? Tell me about it. Listened to a good book? I want to know. I love almost all genres but am partial to fantasy and paranormal.

Leave your recommendations in the comments for me to consider and I'll be eternally grateful. Seriously, I'm so far out of the loop (but clawing my way back), it's not funny.
