The power of nightmares+giveaway

Posted by: Shona Husk
Everyone gets nightmares. Sometimes you wake up with your heart racing but can’t remember what caused it, other times you wake up with the dream lodged firmly in your mind. My most recent one was a snake biting me on the neck—it felt so real that even once I was awake I could still ‘feel’ the snake. *shudder*

Fortunately nightmares are just our subconscious running around and they stay locked in our mind. Meryn , the hero from ‘For the Love of a Goblin Warrior’, isn’t so lucky. After spending centuries as a goblin in the Shadowlands (the realm where nightmares come from and goblins live) he finds himself human again and back in our world, but while he has left the Shadowlands, it hasn’t left him.

Not only does he had to adapt to a very changed world—he was Born in Celtic Britain and last time he was human he was fighting Romans—but his nightmares are becoming reality. When he wakes they are there and fearing them only makes them stronger. So each time they become bigger and more dangerous until eventually a goblin is brought forth…

But knowing what is happening and knowing how to defeat it are two different things. How many times have you heard that you can take control of an unpleasant dream and turn it around? And how many times have you been able to do that?

Would you be able to do that while awake and while fighting for your life?

What nightmare have you had that you’re really glad didn’t come to life?

Leave a comment to go in the draw to win a copy of ‘For the Love of a Goblin Warrior’ (print or kindle version). Winner will be drawn by random at 7pm WST on Wednesday 9th January.

In a Faraway Land...
There lived a man who was trapped—his only companions a horde of goblins consumed by their lust for gold. He thought he was lost forever, thought that no one would ever remember he'd been noble.
A Fearless Warrior…
Now he has been thrust into the human world once again, but so much has changed. How can he ever be rid of the darkness after so long in the Shadowlands?
It Starts with Dreams of a Castle...
And a woman who takes his breath away and makes him forget the pain of his past. He knows he must protecet her at all costs. And perhaps in saving her, he can finally learn to love again.

  1. I don't have horrific nightmares; unpleasant dreams yes but those are usually along the lines of the brakes failing when I'm driving, having my car stolen or not having studied for exams.

I just bought book 2 in the series; I'd love to win book 3! *fingers crossed*

  2. I had one where my house was surrounded by crocodiles ( I live in Ohio) and my kid was hurt. We needed to get to a hospital and I had to walk on top of the crocs while carrying him. They were snapping at me. I woke myself up.

  4. My worst nightmares are the ones where I've fallen off a cliff or something and I wake up as I'm falling. I hate that! I don't usually remember my dreams, but I do remember those. Luckily it doesn't happen too often! Best wishes on the release. I just picked up the second book yesterday, and I'm looking forward to reading it.

  5. I used to dream about being chased by giant, flesh-eating bones. Very glad that never happened for real.

  6. This sounds like a fantastic book! Would love to read. My nightmares tend to be about being incapable. Such as, I can't seem to use the buttons on a phone, can't get people to listen to me, can't find my way out of a house, etc.

  7. I don't have nightmares very often, and when I do have an unpleasant dream, I have changed it to something more positive in the past. A while back I had a fairly unpleasant boss and I had a nightmare regarding a relationship with him. Ugh, I'm glad that one didn't come true.

I was actually excited enough to drop a comment ;) I do have 2 questions for you if you usually do not mind. Is it only me or do a few of these responses look like coming from brain dead visitors? :-P And, if you are posting on additional online sites, I would like to keep up with everything fresh you have to post. Would you list the complete urls of your social pages like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?

  17. You actually make it appear so easy along with your presentation however I find
this topic to be actually something which I feel I'd never understand. It sort of feels too complicated and very broad for me. I'm
